Building on its history of full service to clients, Greenebaum established a governmental affairs practice in Frankfort, the capital of Kentucky in 1999. The Governmental Affairs Team is backed by the staff and resources of the entire law firm, thus affording clients a broad range of experience on public policy issues which impact them.
Our goal is to maximize service to clients through a team which blends intricate knowledge of government and politics with legal and technical experience. That combination, in turn, helps assure clients of comprehensive and fact-based solutions when they face complex legislative, administrative and legal issues.
Consistent with Greenebaum's overall objectives, the basic objectives of the Governmental Affairs Team are to pursue adoption of state legislation, regulations or policies which benefit clients and to seek suitable modification if detrimental to clients.
The Services
Legislative Representation – Members of the team are registered Legislative Agents in Kentucky, with extensive experience lobbying issues which impact client companies and the business community.
Executive Branch Representation – The team maintains contact with administrative officials at all levels of Kentucky State Government and can assist clients in a variety of ways – from pursuing needed actions, to establishing positive communications, to resolving conflicts.
Regulatory Affairs – The team is ideally suited to represent the interests of clients as state regulations are promulgated and implemented. Working with other Greenebaum practice teams, the Governmental Affairs team is positioned to effectively represent clients adversely affected by actions of state regulatory agencies and to help coordinate legal challenges of such actions if administrative avenues are exhausted.
Issue Management – Whether an issue involves the legislative, executive or judicial branch (or any combination thereof), the team has the experience and resources to manage a public policy issue from start to finish. Services include legal analysis of issues, bill analysis, bill drafting, strategy development, preparation and presentation of committee testimony, development of position papers, legislative monitoring, coalition building and related services.
